I come from a classical dance background having started dancing at the age of 3 and eventually teaching for a few years after high school. Together with my mom we attended our first yoga class over 30 years ago. I absolutely loved it and knew I would be a life-long yogi. Two kids later, a busy family and career, my fitness goals shifted to now also include endurance running and eventually triathlons. As with many athletes and dancers, my body started to break down from the overuse and over training. I needed to find a way to slow down and get back to a more regular yoga practice and start to try to heal these nagging injuries. I was fortunate enough to find Free Spirit Yoga over 10 years ago and began to rediscover the many physical and mental benefits yoga had to offer. Eagerly, I decided to take my RYT 200 hr teacher training through Free Spirit in 2020. I am now registered through the Canadian Yoga Alliance as a 200hr level instructor, with additional certifications in aerial yoga as well as TRX Suspension Training. I am forever grateful to Julia and the beautiful community of yogis that instruct at and attend classes at Free Spirit. I’m so excited to share with you my love of yoga and all it has to offer. I look forward to seeing you on the mat.
